To forward new messages constantly a blog tends to be more functional for most people.
If you already have a website its goal is that your message is heard or read.
Most companies already have a blog you know it's very easy to maintain and publish new information on the Internet. No need to learn to move on "administration" as a site, write an article on a blog is as easy as typing in a forum, or send an e-mail.

Blogs vs Websites
- Blogs are active and websites are passive. Through a blog you can forward your messages via RSS whenever new information is available. Sites usually need search engines to discover and verify that there is new information.
- Blogs are faster. The RSS syndication is instantaneous. Technorati and other search engines index a new post Blogs in minutes after its publication.
- Blogs create an overlap. If the content is interesting enough is too easy for visitors to subscribe to the blog to be notified whenever a new post is published.
- The websites are heavy and expensive; blogs are simple and inexpensive.
- Updating a blog is fast. You can do that at the airport, the interval between meetings, those free 10 minutes after lunch. To update a website have to call your webmaster, giving instructions and expect it to do the updates.
- Media. Most likely the media will find a "post" in your blog that your website.
- Target Audience. You can learn about your target audience in a blog.
- Marketing. When publishing content on a blog you're doing marketing. A website, not always!
- Blogs are the latest additions. Are at least should be, regularly updated, so visitors tend to trust that your information is more current than a normal website.
- Interaction and participation. Blogs facilitate the conversation, leave a comment, receive a reply to a comment. Foster interaction and participation of the visitor.
This means that you do not need a Website? Not at all. But a supplementary website with a blog allows a company to become dynamic online and feed their presence with constant content updates. And increasingly, in the Internet content is king!
